Top ten reasons I love where I am living

Dear family and friends,

Who doesn't like lists? I have been thinking in lists a lot. So here's the top ten reasons I love where I am living.

10. Our walls/decor. We've put up Texas and Louisiana flags and even glow in the dark stars. We have about 10 movie posters to put up. We're also thinking about making a sticky note mural (make art out of sticky notes) if we get bored enough.

9. Pool and Grill. We have like 3 community grill and pool that we plan to use.

8. Laundry. We have our own washer and dryer in the apartment. And even though its so old school (the washer tilts out), it does the job well.

7. Parking. I feel like there's always a slot here at the Centre Apartments. Im always less than 200 feet from my apartment and it makes me happy. Easy to leave quickly.

6. Shower heads. To me, they're important to have along with good water pressure. We have good ones=)

5. We've finally got a tv. I got the old one from the living room as i met Mom and Dad in Houston yesterday. It was a good short visit. Thanks again! And a DVR came with the apartment. Booyah.

4. The kitchen. We're mostly sharing our food unless someone says something is exclusively his. We've cooked a tiny bit. The biggest thing I've cooked is egg in a nest. I've loved grocery shopping and having fruits and lots of food I like always available. On that same note, I've been eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches almost every night to fatten me up a little haha.

3. My bed loft/desk. I have this amazing bed that is like a bunk bed, but instead of having a bottom bunk, it's space for a desk. The bed is so comfortable. It's a pillow top mattress and so soft. The bottom is where I spend most of my time. Studying, reading, laptopping, organizing. And Mom gave me this really cool metal Dr. Pepper chair that we saw in the museum here for "something to remember my Baylor years by." It's a really nice bed/loft/desk and I enjoy it everyday.

2. Proximity to campus. If we were any closer to campus, we'd be ON campus. It's SO nice because you don't have to drive and then find parking on campus, because there never is any on campus. So I walk to class. It's nice.

1. My 3 awesome roommates Kevin, Nick, and Jarrod. I know these guys from last year at penland hall and they're the best. It's so nice to have roommates you can talk to and be like-minded with.

I hope yall are having a good day.
Love,
Andrew

P.S.- Request a topic or pictures for me to talk about or put up, if you'd like. I'd appreciate it.

First Blog Entry

Dear Family and Friends,

It was such a fun summer. I had a great time with every one of you.
I'm gonna tell you about one aspect of my summer, and then next week I'll tell yall about what's been going on the last few weeks here at BU.

Dustin and Becca and I set out to do P90X every day of summer. The 90 in P90X is supposed to be 90 days... how long the program is. Just about as long as summer is. Becca saw an infomercial, I knew a friend that was doing it already, and Dustin just wanted to work out (according to one of his new year's resolutions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBAy5Jhq0uM) So I bought the 13 disks on eBay for a cool 75 bucks. We did a pre-test to see how fit we were, and even took some pictures posing and flexing that I think no one will ever dare to let anyone else see, and the second day of summer, we started. It was TOUGH. We learned as we went. If you ever do P90X, you need two things, 1) You have to like Tony Horton. The normal person thinks he's pretty obnoxious, but you have to put him on a pedestal and think that he's the funniest and catchiest work out instructor you've ever had. Love his catch phrases: "Do your best and forget the rest," "Ab Ripper X: I hate it, but I love it," and  many many more. 2) Do it with people; otherwise, you'll cheat, you'll skip days, and it's so much better than giving up (cause you still will) alone. So we had a lot of fun. Our first month, we did it almost every day...including every night while we worked at Work Week at a YL camp in Georgia called SharpTop Cove. A few weeks later, I went to Summer Staff at a YL camp in Colorado called Crooked Creek Ranch leading the mountain bike rides. I was sore EVERY day. While I was gone this month, Dustin and Becca kept up with P90X at home, most days. Well, Dustin more than Bec, but they did it. Once I got back, we did it a few more times...we pretty much got lazy. We did it probably once every 3 days that last month.  So all in all, I basically did P40X haha. Dustin did more like P60 or 70X, and Becca was somewhere in between. It was a lot of fun and good to stay in shape for the most part.

I'd love to see some feedback on this first blog so I know who's reading. I won't email yall anymore about it, so make sure to bookmark this page and check it anytime you want. I'll add something every week and brighten up the page.

Love yall,
Andrew
